CHALLENGE

I was approached by GriD architects to create a logo for a new hotel restaurant they were designing. Positioned next to a lake, Lāk restaurant needed a visual identity that reflected its location, while working in harmony with the hotel’s already established interior design elements.

SOLUTION

I developed an equally contemporary and inviting logo with a subtle aquatic theme. The wave-like element in the type is reminiscent of some tile surfaces used throughout the space. It was placed over the “a” to indicate the phonetic spelling of the word “lake” and to encourage proper pronunciation. I’ve included a few of the alternative logo concepts (not selected) I designed as well.
